Statement
In Thailand, drivers will put something that they respect on a car console or hang on a rear-view window. Most of things are Buddha, Monk images, or anything they believe that can protect them from an accident.
Those faiths might be conflicted with the Global Status Report on Road Safety 2015 made by WHO (World Health Organization). They reported about number of road traffic death in the world which surprisingly Thailand took the second place in the ranking. This report insists an annual regrettable situation in Thailand; between Songkran or New Year festival, many Thais have been killed by car accidents around 300 persons and happened in just five celebration days.
Someone said ironically that this number is more than deaths in a civil war or an epidemic in some country. This is a painful truth suffering us whether those spiritual things would help us or not.
